Classes will be double pinned at 25 (entered at desk). This means the top two horses get points for 1st, and ribbons for first (Star classes, the winner will receive the class trophy, 2nd place will receive a regular trophy). Ribbons & points to the top 12 horses. Champion/Res Jumpers (ties split by rank in all day warm-up jumper) Questions? ask.

ENTRY FEES HUNTER/JUMPER CLASSES Regular classes $15, STAR classes $20, The Kirkwood Classic $35.

POST ENTRY/OFFICE FEES A one time post entry/office fee of $20 per horse will be assessed to all entrants making entries after Aug 1. All horses must be entered to show or school. Bring your entry materials and coggins Friday if you would like to school then. Avoid this office fee by pre-entering. How do I Pre-enter? Fill out the entry form completely and mail with a $25 non-refundable deposit postmarked BEFORE Aug.1, 2008. When you arrive at the show leave an open check when you pick up your number. If you pre-enter you do not have to pay the office fee. Why do I charge an office fee? I have to pay the salaries of office help. The more people who enter at the show the more help we have to hire. If you pre-enter I can do it myself.

SCHOOLING Friday evening from the time the course is set until 9:30 PM and 6 am to 7:45 am on Saturday. Schooling Sunday 6-7 AM. A fee of $10 will be charged to every entry for schooling. This helps cover the cost of insurance. All horses on the property must be entered in at least one class and have a stall. This includes horses arriving on Friday. Horses must have a number before schooling, even on Friday.

STABLING All horses must have a stall as per NEC rules. No screws or staples are allowed to attach materials to stalls. Any materials added to stalls should be removed upon loading to prevent injury to future barn users and horses as per NEC rules.

STALLS: CALL (361 293-1728) FOR RESERVATIONS. Friday thru Sunday $85. One day only $45. Arrivals after 4pm will not be charged for that day. Horses wishing to arrive earlier than 4PM must pay a stall fee for the additional day.
When blocks of stalls are reserved trainers need to identify to whom they are to be billed to upon arrival. If tack stalls are to be split a list needs to be presented to the office detailing which riders pay. The fee will be divided by the number of riders indicated and rounded up. Riders should include the name of the barn with whom they are barn they are stabling on their entry form. If such a list is not presented the person ordering the tack stall will be held responsible for the entire amount. Any one in unassigned stalls may be asked to move and pay a $10 clean up charge. CHECK WITH THE MANAGEMENT FOR ASSIGNED STALLS.

SMOKING: is not allowed in the confines of the barns, show office, retail shops or any other indoor park facility of vehicle, including but not limited to tents as per NEC rules.

DOGS/OTHER ANIMALS : I personally love them, but leave them at home or keep them on a leash. Unleashed non-equines are subject to impoundment by NEC and owner will be fined $100. No dogs allowed in the concession area. All per NEC rules.

Challenge Trophies: Must be won 3 times by the same horse for permanent possession. Trophies will remain with the committee and a second trophy will be awarded to the winner. Amateur Adult hunter/Children's 2'9"-The Francis J. Venneman Memorial Trophy presented by Hunters Unlimited/ Novice Child/Adult Hunter-The Coca Cola Trophy/ The Kirkwood Classic- The Kirkwood Trophy.

MISC. Proof of negative Coggins test required by state law is the original vet certificate.

The Kirkwood Classic: horse must have shown in one full hunter division at this show. Fence heights 3’6”, 3”, 2’6,” 2’ distances will not be changed. If horse showed more than one height division, they may choose which height to compete.
Second round over a shortened course at the judge’s discretion.
Riders to wear dark coats, stock or choker, light breeches, top hat, derby or hunt cap, black boots and gloves. Riders must be mounted and return to the ring for ribbons.
36” special ribbons 1-8. Payback to the top 4 horses based the number of horses ($15 from each $35 entry fee collected in this class will be paid back). Checks will be mailed in 4-6 weeks. PLEASE be certain that I have your correct address on the entry form, not your trainer’s or barn address! Entry Fee $35

ATTIRE: For all classes EXCEPT the classic, breeches/jods, boots, safety approved helmet with harness attached and a polo shirt.
